Congressman Ron Paul is definitely feared by the Super Hero Obama camp.
Why? Because Dr. Paul's anti-war message is Political Kryptonite.
The following are my postings on the Obama YouTube site in response to a posting by one of Obama's supporters who had disparaged our efforts to stop the Obama BOT that had been inflating the channel views on his site at the rate of 300 views per minute for many days.

"Hey, thank God we stopped that Bot. God forbid we should talk about things that matter, like the econmoy, or health care, or the war in Iraq. No, all the Ron Paul supporters biggest concern is whether or not a bot is inflating some numbers on a website. Sad state of the election process I suppose. Now that the Bot is supposedly stopped, maybe this crisis can now end and we can get on with our lives, and make sure Ron Paul stays at the 1% of the polls that he currently is (and will stay at)."

"Reverendmalibu....Most politically astute people know that image is prepotent over issues in a political campaign. The general public typically knows next to nothing about the really significant issues in a campaign or the candidates real positions regarding them.
"Campaigns are about creating an image that is marketable in the same way that Clorox, Kleenex, or Jello are marketed in the super market. These brands have become synonymous with sodium hypochlorite solution, facial tissues, and gelatin dessert.
"So, it is important for those who care about issues to insure that attempts to sell, based on image alone, are exposed and discussed. Using a BOT to inflate views on the Obama site artificially creates the image of massive online interest and popularity. I would think that you, who espouses the desire to discuss issues, would recognize this.
"I find it particularly interesting that you are focusing on making 'sure Ron Paul stays at the 1% of the polls that he currently is (and will stay at).' The importance that you ascribe to this task appears to reflect an awareness that Ron Paul is the only Republican who can tap into the 70% of the populace that is anti-war.
"It appears that you realize that none of the top 3 tiers of Democratic candidates will be able to draw the anti-war vote like Dr. Paul, since all of them are all in bed with the corporatists who have huge, vested interests in preserving the warfare and chaos in the Middle East. This, most definitely includes Barack Obama, who tries to create the illusion that he is anti-war to please his base. He proclaims loudly that he has opposed the Iraq war from the beginning, but if you look at his subsequent voting record, you see quite a different 'Obomba.'
"Mr. 'Obomba' has voted at least 20 out of 21 times pro-war in the Senate, his only 'anti-war' vote when he voted NO on the last war appropriation bill. However, this occurred after the outcome of the Senate vote was clear. He had been without a stated position on the bill until the last minute. But, even more significantly, he is unwilling to take the nuclear option off the table in dealing with Iran!
"Ron Paul's 1-2 % showing in the national, "scientific" polls clashes with his getting 69% of the votes of about 39,000 voters who cast their vote on MSNBC after the NH Republican Debate. This is interestingly consistent with the 70% of the nation which opposes the Iraq war and is also consistent with the fact that Ron Paul's support has a very broad base; he is attracting voters from all across the political spectrum except, of course, the corporatist neoconservatives and neoliberals who are pro-war.
"There is also a little known fact that Ron Paul's name is often not on the polling list as illustrated by the report of one recent Gallup participant, who said that Ron Paul was not mentioned (in the list of candidates). There is the added consideration that many of Ron Paul's youthful, online supporters don't have a land phone and are probably very underrepresented in the polls--not to mention the fact that Dr. Paul has been the target of a well-documented (and well-orchestrated) campaign by Big Money to suppress his message in the mainstream media.
But, Dr. Paul's Freedom Message appears to be becoming VERY popular and is resonating more and more loudly and spreading more and more rapidly across the nation. His 1-2% in the national polls also clashes with the more than 20,000 activist members of Meetup groups nationwide, the largest of any candidate and growing astonishingly by the day. It is, indeed, a grassroots fire. Thus, you are perceptive when you say that you must work to keep Dr. Paul at 1% in the national polls."
I think that the foregoing shows only one aspect of the vulnerability of Super Hero Obama to Dr. Paul's highly principled, constitutionally-based message. It has become increasingly clear that Dr. Paul is holding Political Kryptonite that reveals other weaknesses, not only in Obama's pseudo-populist image, but weaknesses in all of the top tier candidates. These weaknesses I shall address on another occasion.
